DO YOU ACCEPT PRIVATE INSURANCE?

Unfortunately, at this time I do not accept private insurance.  However, upon payment and completion of your child's therapy session, a superbill will be provided to you in order to submit to your insurance company and apply for reimbursement.  No doctor's prescription is required to evaluate or treat your child.

WHERE DO I TAKE MY CHILD FOR THERAPY?

The beauty of private therapy is that you do not need to leave your home! I aim to keep therapy services convenient for caregivers and in your child's natural environment.  Materials and toys will be provided, if needed, to target your child's goals.  I travel throughout Southern New Jersey, as well as, provide services at my new office located in Collingswood, New Jersey.

HOW LONG ARE THERAPY SESSIONS?

Therapy sessions may range from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending upon your child's level of attention, participation, and needs.  Many feeding therapy sessions last up to 30 minutes, but sessions are required more frequently.

Speech-language or feeding consultations can be provided at a minimal cost to a parent or caregiver to answer questions concerning their child's skills.  These consultations can take place over the phone, via email, webcam, or in person and can answer many questions without requiring a full evaluation.

A screening may be recommended by spending a short time with your child at home or in a school/day care program to observe communication or feeding behaviors and skills.  Screenings are typically less than one hour. After the screening, I will determine and discuss with the family whether a formal evaluation should be completed.

If a formal evaluation is warranted, you and your child will participate in a comprehensive assessment to look closely at all areas of communication and oral-motor development.  This standardized assessment can take up to two hours to complete, including parent/caregiver interviews and observation of your child.  A formal report, including goals and recommendations will be written and issued for you to share with your child's school.

CONSULTATION, SCREENING, EVALUATION-

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

CAN MY CHILD JUST BE EVALUATED AND NOT TREATED?

Yes.  I complete standardized, formal evaluations upon request from a family or school district in order to determine needs for school-based speech-language therapy.  Also, your child may be evaluated but not require my services, in which case, therapy will not be recommended.
